PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene), also known as perfluoroethylene, is an organic compound with the chemical formula C2F4. It is a colorless gas insoluble in water at room temperature and pressure. PTFE is mainly used as a raw material to manufacture new heat-resistant plastics, engineering plastics, fire extinguishing agents, and fog suppressants.
Polytetrafluoroethylene (Teflon or PTFE), commonly known as "Plastic King," is a polymerized polymer compound made of tetrafluoroethylene. Used as engineering plastics, they can be made into PTFE pipes, rods, strips, plates, films, etc. It is generally used for corrosion-resistant pipes, containers, and other materials. It is usually used in corrosion-resistant pipes, containers, pumps, valves, radar, high-frequency communication equipment, radio equipment, etc. Mainly, it has the following characteristics.
1. High-temperature resistance - working temperature up to 250 ℃.
2. Low-temperature resistance - good mechanical toughness; even if the temperature drops to -196 ℃, it can maintain a 5% elongation.
3. Corrosion resistance: It is inert to most chemicals and solvents and resistant to strong acids, alkalis, water, and organic solvents.
4. Weathering resistance - has the best aging life among plastics.
5. High lubrication - the lowest coefficient of friction among solid materials.
6. Non-adhesion is the lowest surface tension among solid materials and does not adhere to any substance.
7. Non-toxic and harmful—physiologically inert, as artificial blood vessels and organs implanted in the body for a long time without adverse reactions. The surface of medical catheters is smooth, non-toxic, odorless, and resistant to sterilization. Medical catheters for internal use do not contain harmful soluble substances and have excellent organism replaceability, biocompatibility, and blood compatibility.
Product Specification
PTFE sheet (also called PTFE sheet, Teflon sheet, Teflon sheet) is divided into two kinds of molding and turning. Its products are widely used and have excellent comprehensive performance: high and low-temperature resistance (-192℃-260℃), corrosion resistance (strong acid, strong alkali, aqua regia, etc.), weather resistance, high insulation, high lubrication, non-adhesion, non-toxicity, and other excellent characteristics. Polytetrafluoroethylene (abbreviated as Teflon or [PTFE, F4]), commonly known as "Plastic King," the Chinese trade name "Teflon," "Teflon" (Teflon), "Teflon" (Teflon), "Teflon" (Teflon), "Teflon" (Teflon), "Teflon" (Teflon), "Teflon" (Teflon). Teflon", "Teflon", "Teflon", "Teflon" and so on.
Polytetrafluoroethylene (Teflon or PTFE), Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) material has many excellent characteristics. Its temperature resistance, non-adhesion, chemical stability, electrical insulation properties, low coefficient of friction and wear resistance, excellent mechanical properties, and machinability make it widely used in many fields.
It is widely used in aviation, aerospace, atomic energy, electronics, electrical appliances, the chemical industry, machinery, construction, textiles, medicine, and other industrial sectors and is increasingly ingrained in people's daily lives.
High-temperature resistance - the use of working temperature up to 250 ℃.
Low-temperature resistance: It has good mechanical toughness; even if the temperature drops to -196 ℃, it can maintain 5% elongation.
Corrosion resistance - to most chemicals and solvents, showing inertia, resistance to strong acids and alkalis, water, and a variety of organic solvents.
Weather resistant - has the best aging life of any plastic.
High lubricity - has the lowest coefficient of friction of any solid material.
Non-adhesion - is the minor surface tension in solid materials, does not adhere to any substance, mechanical properties of its friction coefficient is microscopic, only 1/5 of polyethylene, which is an essential feature of perfluorocarbon surface. Also, due to the shallow fluorine-carbon chain intermolecular force, PTFE is non-sticky.
Non-toxic - physiologically inert, as artificial blood vessels and organs long-term implantation without adverse reactions.
Electrical properties—PTFE has a wide frequency range of dielectric constant, and dielectric loss is shallow, while breakdown voltage, volume resistivity, and arc resistance are high.
Radiation resistance - polytetrafluoroethylene radiation resistance is poor (104 rads); by high-energy radiation caused by degradation, the electrical and mechanical properties of polymers are significantly reduced. Applications polytetrafluoroethylene can be molded by compression or extrusion processing; it can also be made into aqueous dispersions for coating, impregnation, or made of fiber. Polytetrafluoroethylene is widely used in atomic energy, aerospace, electronics, electrical, chemical, mechanical, instrumentation, instrumentation, construction, textile, food, and other industries as high and low-temperature resistance, corrosion-resistant materials, insulating materials, anti-adhesive coatings, and so on.
Atmospheric aging resistance, irradiation resistance, and low permeability: after long-term exposure to the atmosphere, the surface and performance remain unchanged.
Incombustibility: limited oxygen index below 90.
Acid and alkali resistance: insoluble in strong acids, alkalis, and organic solvents.
Oxidation resistance: resistant to corrosion by potent oxidizing agents.
Acidity and alkalinity: neutral.
Polytetrafluoroethylene has soft mechanical properties. It has deficient surface energy.
Polytetrafluoroethylene (F4, PTFE) has a series of excellent performances: high-temperature resistance - long-term use of 200 ~ 260 degrees, low-temperature resistance - still soft at -100 degrees; corrosion resistance - resistant to aqua regia and all organic solvents; weather resistance - the best-aging life in plastics. The best-aging life in plastics; high lubrication - with the smallest coefficient of friction in plastics (0.04); non-sticky - with minor surface tension in the solid material without adhering to any substance; non-toxic - with physiological inertia; excellent electrical properties, the ideal class C insulating material.
