JUXIN FASTENERS manufactures flat head, open-end steel blind rivet nuts with smooth round bodies for creating internal threads in thin sheet metal, hollow sections, and industrial assemblies requiring one-sided installation.
The flat flange provides a bearing surface against the mounting panel. During installation, the deformable body collapses behind the panel to secure the insert and create a threaded attachment point.

Product Specification
Technical Specifications
JUXIN FASTENERS manufactures flat head, open-end steel blind rivet nuts with smooth round bodies for one-sided installation in sheet metal, hollow sections,
and fabricated industrial components. These threaded inserts provide reusable internal threads where access to the reverse side of the panel is restricted.

Published Metric Thread and Body Diameter Reference
The following dimensions are taken from the existing product information and are provided for preliminary engineering reference.
Published body diameters must be verified against the applicable JUXIN FASTENERS technical drawing before production approval or installation tooling selection.
| Thread size | Standard metric pitch | Published body diameter |
|---|---|---|
| M3 | 0.5 mm | 5.0 mm |
| M4 | 0.7 mm | 6.0 mm |
| M5 | 0.8 mm | 7.0 mm |
| M6 | 1.0 mm | 9.0 mm |
| M8 | 1.25 mm | 11.0 mm |
| M10 | 1.5 mm | 12.4 mm |
| M12 | 1.75 mm | 16.0 mm |
All dimensions are in millimeters. The listed pitches represent standard metric coarse-thread references, subject to confirmation for the selected product.
The published body diameters are reference dimensions, not verified mounting hole specifications.
Approved hole diameters, tolerances, flange dimensions, body lengths, and individual grip ranges must be confirmed using the relevant product drawing.
Engineering and Installation Guidance
Mounting Hole Preparation
Correct mounting hole dimensions are essential for consistent installation and mechanical retention.
The mounting hole must accommodate the specified rivet nut body diameter while maintaining the fit required for the selected panel material.
Hole roundness, burr removal, panel flatness, surface condition, and manufacturing tolerances should be inspected before installation.
Excessive clearance may reduce rotational resistance or produce inconsistent backside deformation.
Grip Range Selection
The published grip range of 0.5–6.0 mm applies to the overall product series and does not represent the approved installation range of every individual rivet nut.
Each configuration must be selected according to the actual panel thickness and its specified grip range.
Panel material, hardness, and thickness variation can influence the deformation and retention characteristics of the installed insert.
Flat Head and Flange Seating
The flat head provides a bearing surface against the front face of the mounting panel. Its flange helps distribute contact loads around the prepared mounting hole.
Engineers should verify flange diameter, flange thickness, panel flatness, edge distance, and clearance around adjacent components.
The flange normally projects above the panel surface. Where a lower installed profile or flush mounting is required, a suitable thin-head or countersunk rivet nut configuration should be evaluated.
Installation Procedure
Prepare the mounting hole according to the approved dimensional drawing.
Confirm the panel thickness is within the specified grip range.
Select the appropriate rivet nut setting tool, mandrel, and nosepiece.
Insert the rivet nut into the mounting hole until the flange contacts the panel.
Apply the specified setting stroke or force to deform the body behind the panel.
Inspect the installed flange seating and backside deformation.
Verify thread integrity and retention according to the applicable inspection requirements.
Compatible manual, pneumatic, or hydraulic setting equipment may be used, provided the selected tooling and installation parameters are suitable for the rivet nut configuration.
Smooth Body and Rotational Resistance
Smooth round-body rivet nuts do not have external body knurling or a hexagonal profile to provide additional geometric interlocking with the mounting hole.
Their rotational resistance depends on the mounting hole fit, panel properties, installation deformation, and joint geometry.
For applications involving repeated screw installation, elevated tightening torque, vibration, or servicing, representative spin-out torque and axial pull-out testing should be considered.
Where greater rotational resistance is required, engineers may evaluate knurled-body or hexagonal-body blind rivet nuts as alternative designs.
Open-End Design and Screw Engagement
The open-end configuration permits a mating screw or bolt to extend beyond the threaded section when sufficient backside clearance is available.
Engineers should verify the required thread engagement, screw length, available installation space, and potential interference with nearby components.
An open-end rivet nut does not provide an inherently sealed connection.
Applications requiring moisture or dust protection should use a separately validated sealing arrangement or another suitable fastening configuration.
Blue Zinc Plating and Corrosion Requirements
The product is specified with a blue zinc-plated surface finish.
Coating thickness, passivation chemistry, appearance, corrosion resistance, and restricted-substance requirements must be defined through the applicable purchase specification.
Zinc coating thickness and tolerance
Passivation type and any additional sealing treatment
Corrosion testing method and acceptance criteria
Compatibility with mating materials and service conditions
Applicable RoHS or other restricted-substance requirements
Surface finish inspection and documentation
ASTM B633 and ISO 2081 may be considered when specifying electroplated zinc coating requirements, where appropriate.
Compliance with any particular standard must be confirmed through the approved coating specification and supporting documentation.
Installation Validation and Quality Control
Before approving a new OEM assembly, the following characteristics should be evaluated:
Mounting hole diameter and tolerance
Panel material and thickness
Applicable rivet nut grip range
Flange seating and surface contact
Backside deformation after installation
Internal thread condition
Spin-out torque resistance
Axial pull-out resistance
Coating condition after installation
Assembly repeatability and production consistency
Acceptance criteria should be based on the approved customer drawing, assembly requirements, and representative testing
